reminders of love
I love working with my wife Sara. Wedding days are the best of the “work days” for us. We are invited to have fun with a couple and their closest friends and family.
Sara thrives in these exciting days. She’s been a bride in front of the camera and knows all that goes into a wedding day. She is great with meeting a crowd of new people who become friends by the end of the day. She makes me laugh while we’re working. And when we see our couples beaming at the altar when they are announced as Mr. and Mrs we can’t help but think of our wedding day in August 2006.
People have asked me about how we work together. I’m sure we’re not the model couple for a how-to series or anything. Put two artists together in just about any setting and there will be some debate over artistic vision. We’re no exception, except that we’re competing for the best shots we can find to give our clients. (Choosing which images to proof, print and use for the album is another story!)
Hearing several excellent wedding sermons this past week has put something in my mind. When I go to work I not only am able to see and work with my wife but I am constantly reminded of the vows we made. I am reminded to love, honor, cherish, protect and serve her. And I think that advice is precisely what couples need on a regular basis. We just happen to hear it at work.
