Tuesday Thoughts v8

Another week another thought ramble. :)

It rained. Lots. We dodged it last weekend by heading south for a wedding celebration. Our grass was all crunchy bits and I was pondering a rain water collection system to reuse what rainwater we got to water the grass. Now… it’s tall and green from the leftovers of Hurricane Ike that drenched Indiana. I should probably mow tonight.

I’m brainstorming for photos to display in an upcoming gallery downtown. My pondering is this: most of my favorite photos are of our clients, not artistic abstractions. Most of our work is great portfolio pieces but less what I’d think of as showing and selling. I have a few black and white prints from college that would work well for coffee shop walls. Most everything else I shoot is a gallery for each client. I’ll think of something. I’m probably over thinking this anyway, as is my custom.

It’s been 2 weeks since our last Trash the Dress and I’m jonesing for more of these creative shoots. When Melanie’s bridesmaids started talking about being out in the rain last weekend I threw a Trash the Dress idea out as an option. No takers, but thankfully so there was also no rain till the reception was over. At any rate,  I’m looking forward to upcoming Senior Sessions, kicing up some fall leaves and soaking up the golden autumn light.

Posted our latest Album Design for Katrina and Charley. I seriously wish they lived closer so we could hang out more, but Lansing’s not too far away.

Adrian has 4 teeth now, two top and two bottom chompers. Teething isn’t looking too fun but he loves crawling and climbing on everything he can. He is so wiggly and active!

Last night I got to photograph two very cool creative friends. Chuck and Sue were downtown celebrating their “15 week anniversary” – couple of lovebirds. I’ve known Chuck for ages and he’s got to be one of the coolest artists you’ll ever meet. He and Sue married on the busiest wedding day of the year, 6-7-08, and if we hadn’t already been booked by an awesome couple Sara and I would have been snapping photos of these two.

They walked outside after a photo was suggested, luckily I had the D300 and 50mm f/1.4 lens to make use of street light. While they joked around I snapped this smile from the lovebirds. You guys crack me up!
