It’s a girl! Madeline is here!

p_1600_1200_1BE93D10-06B3-4E6A-85FD-65221CAEA95E.jpeg

It's a girl! Early Saturday morning Sara's contractions were picking up, and our doctor had us come to the hospital for a checkup to see Madeline's progress. We were scheduled to come Tuesday for a c-section and had our hospital bags packed and ready last week. I got home from our last event shoot and production of the year with enough →

Gone till December

It just hit me this week and we now have 4 days left till our daughter Madeline's birth! With weekend events to photograph and mix, lots of final touches to the house, early Thanksgiving dinner (yay!), and scheduled c-section with hospital recovery in the coming week I wanted to put a notice out early to let everybody know I might be →

Thank you, veterans

Grandpa's WWII US Navy Portrait

I thought about it this morning, but I can't count the friends, former schoolmates, and acquaintances I know that have served in the armed forces in the last decade. More names keep coming to mind. You know who each of you are, and your service and sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. Thank you for serving. The veteran closest to my family →

Thankful Thoughts – November 4th

MacBook vs Toddler

This afternoon I'm thankful for a good laugh break from the home office when I wondered why Adrian was being so quiet. Came down the stairs and saw him sitting in Momma's recliner tinkering with her laptop. I'm also thankful his curiosity got the best of him and he was more interested in "typing" and wasn't throwing the laptop like →

Thankful Tuesday

Today I'm thankful for a morning spent with my son Adrian while Momma Sara and Baby Bu had a checkup. Thankful that he let me wear his froggy hat to cover my bed head hair too. :D It doesn't have to be the 4th Thursday of November to be thankful. What things are you thankful for today?

Licensed to Slice

Genna Bucholtz Indiana stylist

Congrats to my little sis Genna on passing her state certification last week! Way to go on all your hard work studying to become a licensed stylist! Genna rocked the 1940s styles in Caroline & Josh's "Kissing the War Goodbye" engagement session, can't wait to see her work on upcoming shoots too! We're proud of you! - Eric, Sara, Adrian and Niece Bu

Vacation Weekend at Last!

Some favorite photos from a weekend getaway with my folks to Lake Tippecanoe, Indiana.Find time to enjoy a little break even if you're wearing sweatshirts in late August. (And I love the cool weather!) This one's for you blog stalkers who ask how my family and my folks are doing, you know who you are. :D

Adrian vs spaghetti

Yesterday we found out Adrian loves spaghetti after he grabbed a container of noodles and sauce off the table while Sara was cooking dinner. The "we both know I'm getting away with this once I smile" look - adorable and dangerous :D Good till the last drop Adrian loves Mama Sara's home cooking. Daddy agrees! Who made this mess? Wasn't me... 14 months and into →

My sis loves to read

Always good to see good news on TV. Wednesday my sis Aliya and her 2nd grade students were on the evening news for winning an "I Love to Read" challenge. She's always been the smart one of the fam. (I'm the geeky one and our youngest sis Genna is the... obnoxiously outgoing one. :) If you've met her you know →

Gallery Debut – Rescheduled to March 7th

We've rescheduled the Gallery Debut to Saturday, March 7th to make way for an even easier time for our out of town guests and friends to join us! It's been over 20 years in the making. Ever since 1988 when Eric picked up a 110 camera and wandered the neighborhood with camera in hand he's been snapping photos ever since. Unknown →

Baby and the blue balloon

This afternoon Adrian had a giggling blast with helium balloons we brought home from his first birthday party last weekend. It made me stop and think how strange and entertaining it must be for him to let go of something and see it go to the ceiling instead of the floor. High flying fun - Adrian and the balloon Our big boy →

Adrian says “Daddy”

I can't even describe how proud of him I am. The kid's got skills. "Daddy" saying skills, walking skills, and ninja skills. Making his parents crack up skills, too, for that matter. We're celebrating his 1st birthday this weekend. It has been an amazing year seeing him grow from sleepy baby to wiggly walker learning new words and new fun skills. We →

Creative Sara and the Super Macaroni

A few days back Sara made up a tasty and colorful dish for lunch. I call it Super Macaroni. The colorful dish begged to be photographed before devoured. I saw her creative side years before we ran around with cameras together. She has an uncanny knack of making art out of just about anything she finds, tasty food included. I've always →

Tuesday Thoughts – 2009

Precaffeinated ramblings for old times' sake. I haven't written a Tuesday Thoughts post since last year, and long ago since November at that. Since Election Day there's been a flurry of things happening etting ready for the wintry holidays Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and post-holiday decompression. For anyone who hasn't seen him in person so far this year, Adrian is walking. He's →

Craving Retro

While in Indy last weekend I drove by the Children's Museum and reminisced the last museum I could remember visiting was the Chicago Museum of Art in 2004. Yes, over 4 years ago in the dating days. It was one of my favorite trips with Sara. One of my favorites from the trip, nice snap by our friend Julia with Sara's →

Happy new year! Here's a video from the absolute best moment of 2008: February 2nd, 2008 - 2:04am Click the photo or CLICK HERE to see the (G-Rated) birth video I made while we were wintering at the hospital. :) I knew he heard us talking about snowstorms and that's why he didn't want to come out around his due date. →

Winter is here

Old news, winter's here in Indiana. For some fuss I couldn't post these pics yesterday but the photo cuteness of Adrian in the snow was too adorable to keep offline and I found a way to share them! Our snow baby all bundled up with Mama, ready for his first play in the snow! Wait a minute, this stuff is on the →

Slow down a minute

This week was all topsy-turvy. Hard to describe the feeling. Lots of changing weather, lots happening at home, lots of work to do for all the cool couples working with us to wrap up their super cool wedding albums. It never slowed for a second. Thursday Sara was out of town for an overnight business trip and I got to watch →

Tuesday Thoughts v5

Just heard church bells, it's 5pm and images are processing - time for some thoughts. How good is your florist? While working on Angela & Cameron's wedding photos I ran across a photo from some outdoor portraits Sara took of Angela and the ladies. Seems the bouquets were so vivid and fragrant a bumblebee came along to compliment the bride's choice →
