New Nikon D300 – Test Photos

Yep, the Nikon D300 passed the test - it can capture baby cuteness. Rainy mornings are perfect for baby snuggles and photos. Our little camera ham :) CLASSIC Sara expression!

Tuesday Thoughts 4 – Anniversary Edition

Today's the 2nd Anniversary of my favorite August wedding - MINE! Two years back Sara met me outside an old brick schoolhouse on a cool August afternoon and we kissed for the first time as newlyweds. Sometimes it feels like we've always been together, other times like it was only a few weeks ago we married. (Snap courtesy of family →

Family First

A man should never neglect his family for business. -Walt Disney I couldn't agree more with the Mousekateer. Having a home office and a 6 month old both at home is tricky to be sure I put adequate time into work matters and make sure I don't miss out on fun with Adrian. Friday after dinner the phones and email →

Favorites from the Fourth

We hope everyone has enjoyed a great Independence Day! We had a fun time celebrating with family and Adrian loved his first fireworks show. Here are a couple of instant favorites from our rather un-camera-shy little guy with his Momma & Dadda. Baby laughs are contagious like no other! Adrian trying to figure out what kept whistling into the air and popping. Or →

Adrian’s Five Months!

Today Adrian's five months old, a very wiggly and very vocal five months old at that. Photos are from his great Grandma's 95th birthday in late June. Who can resist a baby with a birthday hat!? Aunt Sue and birthday girl Great Grandma with Adrian Adrian and Grandpa Billy partying Adrian and Mama Sara Mmm cake I don't think grandma liked dad's joke about finding →

First Father’s Day

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him. Psalm 127:3

Under the hood

Not that long back I got the Action Blazer's front brakes replaced and an oil change, and it rides like new as 1994 again. Today I changed out a thermostat on Sara's car. I couldn't remember ever inspecting or changing the air filter and it's an easy one so I took it out. Usually you can see some light through →

the Kiddo crawls!

Before the afternoon humidity set in I was walking around the house opening windows to let the nice breeze circulate when I got inspired to decorate. Ok, just to put up the top frilly part over the curtains in the baby room. It's as close to decorating as I get for now. I brought Adrian upstairs to play in his crib →

Grandma “B”

Just a quick note to ask the praying types reading this to lift up a prayer for a speedy recovery for our Grandma Eleanor, known throughout the years as "Grandma B (B for "Bucholtz" before I could say it) who is in the hospital. She's definitely Queen Bee of the family, a matriarch of laughs, and always has a story →

Things I will not miss (we’re moving!)

Friday/Saturday/Sunday night Guitar Hero game nights upstairs / next door / both. Thought it might sound better than the latest 15-year old screamo band at the Underground cafe, at least try new songs not the same one for an hour straight. Halo game nights next door. Opening the door to hear "OW! GOTCHA (explicative deleted) TAKE THAT (explicative!)" Also hearing the →

Fight for Kisses

LuSBCIV1zuQ FIGHT FOR KISSES - if my son Adrian and I were "fighting for kisses" he'd be winning by a long shot - I hate shaving. But he does have really soft skin and for the first couple of weeks home I felt like he was making faces at me for getting (almost) all Sara's attention. Today I played Mr. Mom →

Landon & Grant’s Baptism

I think the coolest part of my job is just being able to tell a story with the camera. Sunday I added a chapter in a story that started in 2003 when I began working with Troy at Ritz Camera Store. Over the 3 years of working there I made some great friends, and while reminiscing today realized it has →

April Beginnings

Hard to believe it was only and already 3 years ago that our friends Rachelle and Joshua were married. At the time Sara and I were still in our single days and it was a look through Sara's photos of the day that convinced me that we should photograph together. What better way to begin our photography business than celebrating →

A decade back, an April at a time

Here's a quick glimpse of the last 10 years of my life: April - 1998 - age 17 - finishing up my senior year of high school, my 13th year at CCS. I officially lived there. My classmates had become some of the best friends I have, which is nice in a group of 16 since you're stuck together all the →

Perfect end to the weekend

After a long couple of weeks lining things up for a new place, wrapping up taxes and getting ready for the spring wedding season we needed a break from home, office, and work. After church and a nap break, Sunday's perfect weather drew us out to hike our favorite trails at Potato Creek and Worster Lake. Adrian got to stroll out →

Finally some outdoor exercise!

Man I've been waiting for spring for ages. With lots of office work to do and one adorable baby Adrian to help take care of at home, it's been tough to get out to walk around on the few nice days we had up till now. So today I walked a good 3 miles round trip toward town to Staples to →

Happy Anniversary Aliya & Ray!

(I passed out after working on taxes so I didn't get to sneak this one in on March 31st) Happy 1st Anniversary Sis!

8 Weeks Already

Adrian... the ocho! Last weekend flew by with Adrian smiling his way through his 8 week old mark. Cousin Brandi visited the youngest of the family while spring break was nothing springlike whatsoever. Adrian's figured out smiling just fine, and is starting to coo out syllables and giggles. What a charmer!

Bonnie Doon Diner Date

While I worked on photo stuff Sara made some tasty pirogies with Mama Bu for the Bucholtz Polish Easter weekend. (Yes, our last name is German, but Grandma's maiden name and is Polish, and so we're Polish. We admit to it, just go with it.) Dad's side of the family - the admittedly Polish side - will be getting together →

what if… I married a movie star

A couple of Thursdays back, Sara reminisced how she was part Rudy, a locally-filmed movie about a Notre Dame University football underdog who had heart, determination and inspired a good deal of fellow students. In her starring scene, she is just a row of football fan extras in front of the star characters and is unmistakable. She was called back to →
