First Wedding of the New Year - Indianapolis Wedding
Wedding photographers have it easy, we only have to work one day a week. (ha!)
Let’s review this one by the numbers:
Running on 2 hours of sleep (excitement is contagious)
in 20 minutes at 2am I will have been up for 24 hours since those 2 hours of sleep
it took 6 hours of car travel and

Two cold December
It’s 2˚ … TWO DEGREES! When you add to that freezing rain and snow you can walk across but not dent because it’s a solid sheet of ice… it’s too cold.
Two cold* for me… stay toasty!
* Note that I understand and enjoy demonstrating the different uses of to, too and two. Saying it’s “two cold” [...]
Photo Lessons by Joe McNally
I took a break from designing and sketching ideas for this weekend’s event setup to check the web feeds. Had a good laugh when I came across this napkin art. I’ve had some pretty cool photography instructors, mentors and inspirations. Still nobody illustrates his or her work as simply and geek friendly as the famous [...]

A group of photographer friends and colleagues are planning a dinner night out to talk photo, ideas, things geeky and laugh. They’re gathering at a Chinese Buffet I frequented in high school. It was the closest restaurant to school and we always took a bunch of eggrolls back to class.

ABBOTT: Mac?
COSTELLO: No, the name’s Lou.
ABBOTT: Your computer?
COSTELLO: I don’t own a computer. [...]
Monday Makeshfit Mayhem - the SuperSquid

Introducing the SuperSquid. Location photographer’s battery charging helper.
On location [...]
Drobo arigato, data roboto
Last week we added some robotics to the office to back up thousands of photographs while we aren’t looking / are working / taking care of Adrian. After a long debate, mostly of internal monologue arguments, I decided to try the Drobo, a “data storage robot.”
(Cool photo, not even mine)
Currently it’s doing it’s robot work [...]
Chop Shop Stop
The weekend is winding down at last. Friday morning when I saw the weather forecast of 90˚+ and high humidity I decided it was time to find some scissors. I got my hair cut last sometime in May and it grew out pretty quick while we were busy with the spring and summer shoots. Luckily [...]

While waiting 2 weeks for our new internet service to be activated I decided to call and find out what was going on. Here’s a semi-live-blog of the fun!
Sitting on hold with AT&T. Ordered home phone and DSL internet service 2 weeks ago. The phone number provided with the Internet order directs me to the [...]
