Trash the Dress – Prom Edition

Indiana Trash the Dress lake outdoor prom photographer

While throwing around ideas with Tabatha for her outdoorsy Senior Sessions it was quickly apparent she was up for something a bit different. I've been working with more and more cool clients that have been completely game to try something a bit different than my previous shoots, and I like it. From the responses to seeing their photos I'd say →

Tabatha’s Senior Session

Indiana Senior portrait photographer Riley High School

Here's a toss-up: pose by giant number cutouts that form your graduation year or go get some fresh air and shoot in YOUR natural environment? If the nursery themed photos are your look for high school graduation, read no further. Continuing my "off the beaten path" series from last week I decided to take different routes than the usual trails I →

Chris’ Senior Session

Mishawaka, Indiana Senior Portrait photographer

I started out last week with a lineup of shoots and the expectation of a little walking and fresh air while photographing some cool folks. I met Chris on Notre Dame University Campus and was pretty stoked he was up for a wander around campus without any pre-planned shots (read: make photographer think on his feet). We wandered away from Notre →

Spring colors in South Bend

American flags by South Bend, Indiana photographer eB Photography

Saw these spring colors waving in the breeze on what I'm claiming was the first spring Saturday of the year. And not a weekend too soon.

Love of the Irish – Notre Dame Basilica Weddings

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Now that it seems Spring is finally here in South Bend, Indiana, everything is greening up beautifully outside. Today, of course, it seems everyone is trying to do the same for Saint Pat's celebrations. (Of course, with the exception of my friend Joel who wore red in support of those with red/green color blindness.) What better time to →

Gallery Debut a smash hit!

Wow. That was a rush! After the last few weeks finalizing prints, framing, preparing and all around brainstorming at high speed, it all came down to one great night of celebration with friends last Saturday! Highlights of the night - and all were simply amazing: We have the coolest friends and clients out there. Sara said it best that each of you have →

Happy Anniversary Kristin & Nate!

Nothing like a stroll down memory lane! Today marks the 3 years' celebration that began in 2005 at Kristin & Nate's wedding. I've known Nate since somewhere around first grade and Kristin since Jr High. I just ran into Nate last weekend hanging out with the guys getting ready for another of our graduating class' May weddings. Congrats you guys!

April Beginnings

Hard to believe it was only and already 3 years ago that our friends Rachelle and Joshua were married. At the time Sara and I were still in our single days and it was a look through Sara's photos of the day that convinced me that we should photograph together. What better way to begin our photography business than celebrating →

Jourdan’s Senior Session

Wednesday Jourdan and her boyfriend Mark met up with me for the first shoot of the springtime! It was nearly summer weather here in Indiana and the Shiojiri Niwa Japanese Gardens in Mishawaka, Indiana were in bloom for a perfect late afternoon Senior Session. We took a walk along the Saint Joseph River and Central Park for some great sunset photos. →

Perfect end to the weekend

After a long couple of weeks lining things up for a new place, wrapping up taxes and getting ready for the spring wedding season we needed a break from home, office, and work. After church and a nap break, Sunday's perfect weather drew us out to hike our favorite trails at Potato Creek and Worster Lake. Adrian got to stroll out →

Partying at the Palais

Saturday I joined 3 fellow photographers to snap away and celebrate Rachel & Ivan's wedding celebration at the Palais Royale ballroom in downtown South Bend. While working with Matthew from Zeta Alpha Studios on what was undoubtedly the biggest and busiest wedding day shoot of the year for all 4 of us was also probably the most fun I've had →

8 Weeks Already

Adrian... the ocho! Last weekend flew by with Adrian smiling his way through his 8 week old mark. Cousin Brandi visited the youngest of the family while spring break was nothing springlike whatsoever. Adrian's figured out smiling just fine, and is starting to coo out syllables and giggles. What a charmer!

Spring has sprung – a snow leak!

My little sis came home from Missouri last weekend for Easter and to meet our baby Adrian. She missed her flight from Chicago to South Bend and made it to the Bucholtz (Polish) Easter late Saturday. Her flight back out early this week was canceled because of severe wind storms. The next was canceled because of this stuff - glops →

Spring songbirds stirring, seeking sunrise

The best reminders that Spring (weather) is near are stirring outside with chirps and songs before daybreak. If it were more springlike outside I would open the porch door to hear them better. A new day begins as sleep was interrupted after three hours' rest and has yet to return. My child stirring for his early morning change and feeding →

green theme

Cabin fever. Loads of paperwork to do at the home office and not so much in the way of inspiration to keep me interested in number crunching. Design revisions are slightly creatively captivating. I needed to get out and away from the desk. Groceries. An errand, a chore, a necessity was actually refreshing when it required me to be away from →
