I’m a fan of incorporating my clients’ ideas into their photo sessions. The more excited about your photos and involved in the creative process you are, the more my energy behind the camera is fueled back into your photos. One of my favorite conversations about a customized engagement session turned out to be a time warp to 1945 to spin a classy take on the famous “Kissing the War Goodbye” sailor and nurse photograph. Victory curls, polka dots, and a (modern day) US Navy dress blue uniform were all upstaged by smiles and laughs throughout these themed engagement portraits.
I put together the vintage Guest Book post and Facebook samples -both a hit- while the rest went into the album, Save the Date cards, and print samples without sneaking online since! Here are more of my favorites from this shoot in classy black and white.
Kiss ordinary photo shoots goodbye and drop me a line here to see your ideas turn into the images you’ve always wanted.
While I’d love to gloss on and on in poetic ways about the love filling the air like seagulls fluttering with eager expectation above a parking lot full of shiny cars… bad example… Jami & Nick have a mutual weirdness I can appreciate, as well as photograph. This is a significant part of their story, and these are the images to prove it. Congrats, love birds!
This weekend kicks off my favorite season in Indiana – autumn! It’s also jam packed with great photo shoots, today’s celebrating Anne & Marty’s wedding at Notre Dame University’s Basilica of the Sacred heart, fun around town and a swinging reception at the Palais Royale Ballroom downtown!
Here are some favorite photos from their October engagement portraits on Notre Dame campus last fall. Enjoy!
Keep an eye out here and on our Facebook page for a sneak preview of the wedding day celebration!
Just in time for the Independence Day weekend it’s toasty hot around these parts of the Great Lakes and Indiana. Feeling like it’s too uncomfortably hot, humid and sunny to head outdoors for a photo shoot? Just add water!
Break out that prom dress, those 27 bridesmaid dresses, or your wedding gown for some stellar summer portraits!
Come brave the heat wave! Drop me a line here to set up a refreshing shoot at the Lake, riverside, pool, fountain, puddle or sprinkler of your choice.
Perfectly fitting snow day post. (Reports of nearly 2-3 feet of drifting snow in the last 24 hours here in South Bend!)
Just before Christmas Katie and Lawrence caught up with me for a sunny and snowy winter engagement session. Turns out the date was the 1-year anniversary of their engagement! In addition to the celebration it was also a perfectly mild winter afternoon to head out to some trails for great photos and good laughs along the way.
Congrats Soonlyweds! We’re loolking forward to your autumn celebration ahead!
