Memorial Day seriously messed with my internal calendar. From March till November my calendar weeks start on Saturday. This week, Monday became Saturday with a morning wedding and two evening portrait shoots. For all the caffeine I drank that morning and afternoon, I never felt tired out being on the go for 14 hours straight because of one of the best parts of my job – creative energy. It’s the stuff that can keep me bouncing around a reception dance floor till midnight snapping away.
Introducing Beth and Jeff, amazing Memorial Day couple #2 and stars of September 26th!
We had such a relaxing time wandering the wooded yard and rooms of the house. It felt less like fake-Saturday Monday and more like a lounging Sunday afternoon hearing all about Jeff’s proposal in the Hawaiian islands and sharing laughs while photographing these lovebirds.
Enough from me, some photos already!
Ok one fun / odd one too. The bathroom had mirrors at every turn and made for some tricky angles to keep myself out of the photo and some strange reflections once I started shooting.
Hall of mirrors. Lots of reflections, maybe some cloning – the middle set of reflections has 2 Beths!

I put together a quick sample of our work for a friend of ours planning a summer 2009 wedding and thought I’d better share the summery favorites from last year’s engagement sessions. Nice warm thoughts from the toasty beach shoots should warm up this odd weather December. The shoreline was definitely this year’s favorite location – hard to beat working barefoot!
We had way too much fun on these shoots taking a break from wedding planning and hanging out with our couples to limit this session to just one package so now it’s included in ALL of our Wedding Photography Packages!
Have a great New Year!
Today we’re celebrating with Nicole & Scott. Their wedding day wraps up one incredible year’s worth of celebrations and awesome couples I have been privileged to photograph!

Congrats Nicole and Scott!
My weekend of awesome couples in Grand Rapids, Michigan concluded with a perfect afternoon Engagement Session with Nicole and Scott at Scott’s family’s restaurant – Noto’s Old World Italian.
If my incredible wedding Saturday wasn’t enough to make me want to visit Grand Rapids again, spending an afternoon with the Noto family and seeing their breathtaking restaurant me consider relocating north. 🙂 I’m convinced I was spoiled to have perfect weather, two amazing couples and such fantastic celebrations to photograph.
The restaurant is rich with family history, and is an exceptionally special place for Nicole and Scott. It was an amazing honor to photograph these November newlyweds in the very spot where their engagement and wedding story began after Scott’s proposal during dinner in the wine cellar.
Thanks again to Nicole and Scott and the Noto family for the laughs, conversation and hospitality during our photo session. We look forward to celebrating with you soon in November!

A while back when we began planning Stacie and Bryan’s autumn wedding photography she ran a couple of interesting ideas past us for her engagement session. Outside, downtown, dusk, and street light.
We headed downtown and shot as the sun began to set. Then the magic light showed up, a great glow *after* the sun is gone, and some cool clouds stuck around knowing how much fun it would be to join us.
Thanks for humoring us while we walked in traffic, gave cars at the corners a photo shoot to watch, and had a great time from start to finish!
Lastly… one of my favorite shots from the dusk setting. While there wasn’t a whole lot of traffic after dark ther ewere still crazy (Michigan) drivers roaring around the corner that we had to watch for before dashing into the street, shoot, and run to the sidewalk.
Thanks again Stacie & Bryan! – Loads more photos to come this week!
Ever since I began including an Engagement Session in the Memoirs Photography Packages it’s been a busy summer snapping on location with my awesome couples. I’ve had too much fun to limit it to just one package so now ALL my Wedding Photography Packages INCLUDE an Engagement Session!
I’d like to sidetrack for a sec – a COMPLIMENTARY ENGAGEMENT SESSION!?! You got it!
During shoots I have been having a blast getting to hang out with my “Soonlyweds” engaged couples. Trips to the beach, strolls around Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s campuses, parks… and did I mention FUN? Take a break from all the hard work you’re putting into planning your big day and just let it out. Want to shout, laugh, run in the waves, play in the park or just dance to leave your planning behind and hang out with your photographers? Go for it!
Something NEW I’ll be offering is a Custom Guestbook chock full of the photos from your relaxing and fun Engagement Session. Instead of just a plain page for your guests to sign a book you will tuck away somewhere, why not show off your photos too?! Keep those names in a book you’ll look at over and over again!
So for the FIRST EVER design of this kind from eB Photography… feast your wedding planning, photo loving eyes on this page-turner put together from Jaclyn and Tim’s engagement shoot. Enjoy!
Before the last 10 minutes of the weekend are gone I’ve got to post a handful of favorite shots from last weekend’s Engagement Session with Nicole and Scott. While the weather warnings all said severe thunderstorms there wasn’t a drop or drizzle of rain on Saint Mary’s campus for our shoot.
More photos to come! Thanks again Nicole & Scott for the great afternoon together! We’re looking forward to telling your wedding day story this Novemeber!
While we’re out celebrating with Amanda and Justin, enjoy some of our favorites from their Engagement Session earlier this month! Form the Engagement Session there is a link to the wedding day gallery. Enjoy!
On our way down the beach Justin saw this sand bar and he and Amanda were awesome sports and walked out into knee deep Lake Michigan water to stand on the sandbar.

Saturday I spent the late afternoon and eve with Jacqueline and Zachary in Michigan City for their Engagement Session along Lake Michigan. This was my second time dipping my feet in the Lake in the last 2 weeks and it’s gotten at least a little warmer. (That, or the nuclear power plant just inland was keeping things nice and toasty, hard to say.)
Dancing in the sand
There was a great storm front moving across the lake. Last time I shot at Washington Park we had to run from the rain. This time the storm stayed over the water and moved along to bring some terrific dramatic skies before sunset.
Throughout the session when beach-goers would ask if we were shooting an engagement session Zach would tell them “that’s what we’re calling it. Really we’re rock stars…”
That being the case, this one is for the magazine cover. 🙂 You guys rocked!
