It’s amazing to see the youngest students of my 2002-2003 drama class now getting ready for graduation day. I was proud of them back then for all the hard work they put into our (elective) class, and I am even more proud as they get ready to celebrate all their hard work throughout high school. The most recent of our students to join us for a Senior Session was Miriam.
What started as a rainy few days turned out to be a vivid, sunny afternoon at the Japanese Gardens. Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot – enjoy!
I think the coolest part of my job is just being able to tell a story with the camera. Sunday I added a chapter in a story that started in 2003 when I began working with Troy at Ritz Camera Store. Over the 3 years of working there I made some great friends, and while reminiscing today realized it has been 2 years ago this month that the Mishawaka store closed.
Last December I caught up with Troy and his wife Michelle for some pregnancy photos as Michelle and Troy were expecting winter babies – yes, twins! Their sons, Landon and Grant, were born in January just a few weeks before my son Adrian arrived in February.
Sunday the boys were baptized at Saint Pius X church in Granger. What an exciting job to tell a family’s story and be part of this celebration for the newest little ones! At the family gathering afterward I had a great time visiting and catching up, sharing fatherhood stories, and introducing our kids to one another.
Saturday I joined 3 fellow photographers to snap away and celebrate Rachel & Ivan’s wedding celebration at the Palais Royale ballroom in downtown South Bend. While working with Matthew from Zeta Alpha Studios on what was undoubtedly the biggest and busiest wedding day shoot of the year for all 4 of us was also probably the most fun I’ve had behind the scenes hanging out with Ivan and the guys. What a riot.
Here’s one of my favorite photos from the ceremony, and the reason I keep a fisheye lens within reach for these wide shots of the celebration.
Ivan’s pumped up for the big day!

Introducing the newlyweds!
Ah the Palais in springtime! Thanks Rachel, Ivan and everyone there for all the fun last weekend!
What a toasty weekend we shared with Meghan & Jon in Warsaw! Here are a couple of my favorites so far…
This was the perfect summer weekend for sunshine! We started off at the park with Meghan and Jon before all the formal portraits at the church. They withstood the summer heat and came back with some great outdoor photos.
And when you pass friends playing hacky sack in the park, you jump right in! These two tore it up.
Behold the dangers of giving your friends, family and guests bird seed to throw when you make your exit…
I absolutely loved the paper parasols above the checkered dance floor! I don’t know if it was done with the photography in mind but it made for great soft light, excellent textures and patterns, and a unique look throughout the reception. My compliments to the creative forces behind this idea!
