Snowy Outdoor Winter Maternity Portraits – Sarah and Phil
The snow hasn’t let up any since Sarah & Phil met me for their wintry maternity portraits a few weeks back. Not a bit. I wished for a white Christmas and I’ve been eating my frost-covered, freezer-burnt words ever since. These two lovebirds, however, just couldn’t get enough of the winter weather!
Congrats to Sarah and Phil on braving the weather for some snowy snapshots as you count down to your baby girl’s arrival soon!
Endless (winter) love – Sarah and Phil
Another snow storm is on the way. Meanwhile Sarah and Phil are making the best of it for a photo of endless love in the endless winter. <3
Maternity Portrait Session Preview – Sarah and Phil
This weekend Sarah and Phil met up with me for – nay, REQUESTED – a winter maternity portrait session mere days after the January Snowpocalypse shut down the city for several days with record setting snowfall and a polar vortex delivered unbelievably cold wind chills. So I made like a Photoshop file, added on some layers and exported with options of location photography gear for an evening of laughs and portraits.
Congrats again, Sarah and Phil!

Super Awesome Villians Forever Tour at Goshen Theater
More in the loud music / fast action / dim lighting category of challenge. Also a first I’ve seen of the Goshen Theater’s Backstage Show style setups, nicely done!

Two favorites, two variants of same angle & subject.
The daunting glance of Jake of True Vision Promotions and The NOTE Venue. You’d think after a guy proposes and gets engaged to his sweetheart at a loud rock show he’d look a little happier.
“You will rock or there will be consequences.”
Geek speak – gear I used was a simple kit of a Nikon D7000 DSLR (Amazon | eBay) body, Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 (Amazon | eBay) plus Nikon 105mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor (Amazon | eBay), SB-800 speedlight (Amazon | eBay) turned down to 1/128th power for some shots. Mix of slow shutter speeds, rear curtain flash sync, high ISO settings, fill flash and dumb luck being in the right place and anticipating some cool stuff.
