Baby it* cold outside
Later January 2026
Or *I know what I wrote. It's ok not to use its properness.
BRR! and after that, BRRRRRRRRRRR.
A wise-sounding YouTube, possibly just AI scrapings, pointed out the benefits of wintertime. I concurr with many - the added quiet from the world staying still and snow dampening sounds, the acceptance of life indoors (for survival), and the refreshing return to creative outlets that busy warmer weather so easily pulls me away from.
Life feels less frenzied on the weekends.
I'll appreciate springtime much more after this extended cold and snow. Those first few days of thawing out feel outright magical and we sit outside again, shedding layers little by little, to soak up the daylight and fresh air.
That scene feels far off in late January this year. "We haven't had a proper winter in years..." the old folks say, the me folks ponder. Getting snowed in, kids missing school but having extra family time unhurried, is a blessing of its own. These days are rare and it sometimes takes nature dumping the coldness on us to get us to... chill out.
That's about it for the now as we thaw in daytime and bundle for bedtime.
